This beautiful historical monument was erected in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu to commemorate the killing of Ferdinand Magellan on 27 April 1521. A local warrior Lapu-Lapu and his men repulsed the Spanish invaders and became the first Filipino to have repelled the European invaders.
